Angar Porthun

Partner

Angar Porthun is an energy and infrastructure transactions and projects lawyer. He is dually qualified as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) and Solicitor (England and Wales) and has extensive experience with a broad range of national and international matters acting for buyers, sellers, developers, and publicly, privately and state-owned companies. Markets outside Europe with which Angar is familiar include the United Arab Emirates, the MENA region generally, and India and Pakistan.

Angar obtained his LLB (with a Diploma in German law) from University College London (UCL) in 1997 and on qualification in 2001 joined Allen & Overy (London). There he acted as lead associate on a variety of transactions for energy companies, private equity firms, and other funds. Client secondments included Shell and Mubadala.

Angar joined a sovereign fund in Abu Dhabi as the head of M&A in 2008 where he led on numerous international projects and transactions in Europe, North America, and Asia. Since 2010 he has been in independent private practice in Hamburg Germany co-founding a public law focussed firm in 2016 and Hargrove Real Assets LLP in 2021.

Angar is an active member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG) and sits on the committee for northern Germany.

Dr. Nina von Borries

Dr. Nina von Borries is dually qualified as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwältin) and Solicitor (England and Wales) and has extensive experience with a broad range of national and international matters acting for buyers, sellers, developers, shipowners, and publicly, privately and state-owned companies

Nina obtained her LLB from University College London (UCL) in 1997 She was admitted as an English qualified solicitor in 2000 and as a Rechtsanwältin in 2003. She holds a PhD in shipping law from the University of Hamburg (2009).

Prior to her current positions Nina worked at the law firms Bentleys Stokes & Lowless from 2006-2016 and at Richards Butler from 1998-2003 (both in London).

Fazal Ahmad

Associate

Fazal Ahmad is an Indian-qualified lawyer, he received his B.A.LLB (1st Class) from Amity Law School, Delhi, India in 2016. In 2017, he obtained his first LLM in International Civil and Commercial Law from Leiden University, Netherlands, and then in IT and IP Law from Leibniz University, Germany in 2019. He is in the process of being registered with the Hanseatic Law Society (Hanseatische Rechtsanwalts Kammer) as a foreign lawyer / Advocate.

Fazal joined Hargrove in 2022 and primarily works on M&A and project finance matters, practicing as an international associate.

Prior to Hargrove, Fazal acquired prolific experience in a number of legal and non-legal roles, including law firms in India and the Netherlands, the Indian Embassy in the Hague, Netherlands, and most recently spending more than two years working for Allianz SE as a Compliance Expert in Munich.

Saman Siddiqui

Saman Siddiqui is an Indian qualified lawyer, she obtained her B.A, LL.B (Honours) from Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam, India in 2016. Thereafter, in 2019 she completed her LL.M in European and European Legal Studies from Europa Kolleg Hamburg, Germany and currently she is registered with the Hanseatic Law Society (Hanseatische Rechtsanwalts Kammer) as a foreign lawyer / Advocate.
